Gluten-Free Finds in Kentucky

I've lived in Louisville for a little over a year now, and one of the selling points of the city is the food. So, I've been on the hunt for prime gluten-free food, and here's a round up of what I've found so far:

AnnieMay’s Sweet Cafe:

If you not only want gluten-free pastries, AnnieMay’s offers treats free of the top 8 common allergens found in everyday foods.

They have locations in Louisville and Boston.

LouVino:

Not a designated GF restaurant, but they are very accommodating for GF folks. They have a seasonal menu that changes periodically throughout the year. So, the only times I’ve gone thus far is during their winter menu— which is DIVINE.

Mushroom risotto? Brussel sprouts and sweet potato salad? All paired with a flight of different wines? Yes please!

Highland Coffee:

Again, not GF designated, but! They have multiple gluten-free snack options available in terms of baked goods, etc. and they’re careful enough to keep them separate from the rest of the baked goods as to avoid cross contamination. You love to see it.

DiOrio’s Pizza:

There’s actually a lot of pizza options in Louisville.

I don’t know why when I moved here, I just didn’t expect that. I’ve tried a few different places, and in my personal opinion, DiOrio’s has the best gf crust.

A little fluffy and sturdy enough to hold toppings, a delicate balance achieved.

The Silly Axe Cafe:

My oh, my is this a gem hidden the Highlands neighborhood. The menu is 100% gluten free…100%!!!

Not to be dramatic but the gluten-free fried chicken sandwich resurrected my soul. It’s hard to find crispy, gf and fried chicken all in one. Plus, having croutons on a salad? What a luxury!

And, not to mention the apple pie is as comforting as apple pie can be.

Where do y'all go for gluten-free in Lou? Let us know!!
